The blue 'hot spots' on this
plate will cause clutch chatter or grabbing. The metal in these areas has been
heated much more than the surrounding area. They will usually be lower than the
rest of the plate. Occasionally they will be raised bumps on the plate where the
metal has actually 'pulled'. If the plate has not been seriously warped by the
heat, it can be ground to remove the hot spots and bring the plate back flat.
